Wooki on GE Hammock

I really like the Wooki, but like others, am troubled by looseness near my shoulder. Yes, a TQ wraps around my shoulder, but I paid for that down, and want it working for me. So, here it hangs in my living room, and I'm feeling a strong tug to stick a Knotty mod on that side.

I'm on a ledge here...talk me down, or yell, "Jump!"

I'd consider that to be a pretty harmless mod. If it works, great! If not, the integrity of the original design wouldn't be compromised. You could always use duct tape to adhere the shock cord on the outside of the hem to test it out first. I say give it a shot. As CSNY once said "What've you got to lose?"

Make a drawstring channel and tack it on the hem of the quilt.
If it works the way you think, stitch it permanently.

If it’s a fail it could be removed easily with little or no harm.

Okay. Done. It appears to work...my shoulder could tell the difference immediately. Field testing to come.

I am really wanting a Wookie but have similar concerns with my 10ft Dream Hammock Darien.

Do you think I will run into the same problem?

My hammock is 2 inches narrower than the Wookie, could that also cause issues?

I've read a few posts where folks have successfully used the Wooki on non-Warbonnet hammocks. So it'll definitely work. The Wooki is a great set-it-and-forget-it option; but it does have a couple trade-offs imo. Because there is minimal/no insulation on the sides, you may find it sleeps a little cooler than a traditional underquilt- particularly if you like to spread out and sleep in the "Figure 4" position. I'm a figure 4 sleeper, and notice that even though my leg is still inside my top quilt, if there is no underquilt surrounding it, it will get a little cold- because the TQ insulation compresses when the knee is pressed against it.

I personally like having some additional insulation on my sides. That way I don't have to be as conscious of where my body is positioned in relation to my UQ.
