Canyon Creek area - Trinity Alps, June/July 2019

Hello,

I'm planning a trip to California for a 5 or 6 day hike in the Canyon Creek area, hoping to find some people who will be in that area since we are not very familiar with hiking in the west. We'll probably be there sometime around the second half of June. Three of us, myself and two sons ( ages 47, 20, 15)

Any hammock enthusiast heading that way?

Plenty of good hanging there. Great scenery. There will be mosquitoes that time of year especially with as wet as it is now.

Based on that little fact, we might move this trip to July.

July gets hot. I’d go in June but prepared. They’re nothing like the biblical swarms of Yosemite.

Canyon Creek faces south and thaws out faster than the Caribou Lake side.
