Shug, I know I've mentioned this in the past, way before this stuff happened, but a segment from one of your videos really hit home with me years ago. It's what originally made me realize I focus too much on the negative, worrying too much, high-strung, etc. etc. So every day, and especially every backpacking trip, I work extra hard to appreciate the beauty of the outdoors and all the good things in life.

Starting at 25:03...simply one of the best pep talks I've received in a long time. And a great trip in general, so everyone should watch it.

My parents divorced when I was six years old, and it was tough growing up without a father (he was a bum). However, my mom was wonderful and raised me up right. She took me camping and fishing and all sorts of things she didn't really enjoy, but she wanted to do as much as possible to insure we had everything a two-parent family might have.

I was 12 and my brother was 10 when they divorced. Our father was a BUM, too! Mom had everything you described for us. She was a warrior. Yes she was. Now I have only my wife and my brother as my family. Hope I have them for a long time...
