They popped up on Mass Drop today. When checking them out for use on my ridge line or on my suspension I discovered they were 2.00 cheaper on Amazon.

What are you thoughts on them if you have used them? Are they good from a ridge line light? I have the regular Luci light that I use a lot.
    Hi Deb! How are you?
I imagine you got your lights by now. How are they working?

I like my Luci candle-like lights - use them in the house in the dark of winter mornings

For outdoors, I used these on my first outing with you guys last fall:

They are not solar powered but they are colorful (fun!), the battery container is very compact and ... well really cute and I loved having them for fun

Have not, but been using these for a while now. Very bright and almost no draw on power source.

Very cool. I use the ones from NDR, but these BioLite's look awesome, too.

Bought a 4 pack of "fairy lights" on Amazon for 10 bucks. They work pretty well for what they are. Add some rechargeable batteries to cut weight if that is a concern.

Just a note on rechargeable batteries. Regular batteries are spec’d out at 1.5 volts. But rechargeables are usually 1.2 volts. That doesn’t seem like much, but if the device needs more that one battery, each loss of .3 volts added up. One device I use often that uses batteries is a GPS. I was disappointed to fine it wouldn’t work when I replaced the alkaline with rechargeables (voltage was too low). Now that was a while back. Maybe today’s gear is more 1.2V friendly. A flashlight has a better chance of working because it just gets dimmer and the voltage moves lower than 1.5V. So those little lights might work. But if your device uses a 4-pack of AA’s or AAA’s, it’s off .3 volts per battery or (4 x .3 = 1.2) it’s almost as 4 rechargeables equals only three regular batteries.

Another concern with battery gear and hammocks is using Lithium. Because they will give full output until they don’t and are dead. So there is not so much warning that the device is about to fail. Unlike and Amsteel Whoopie sling (obligatory hammock reference) - where you can seen impending wear.
In order to see what few have seen, you must go where few have gone. And DO what few have done.

I bought these from REI a while back when I had to burn out my dividends: https://www.rei.com/product/159147/r...-camping-light

They are USB powered, and I have one of those lipstick sized battery packs which will run these for several hours a night, for 3-4 nights. I use a separate 10k mAh battery to keep my phone and headlight charged.

This is one 30' strand. It also has a bunch of blinky effects, plus they are dimmable as well. This photo is overexposed, they aren't this bright.
