I finally bought a hammock and rain tarp!!! I'm excited to spend my first time in my own hammock with you all! I've hammock camped just twice, in borrowed set ups. Big thank you to Karla, Katt, Nick and Steve for their guidance. I'll find out what else I need at sprintergiving. For now, I have something to hang in. See you soon!

I’m definitely coming on Thursday. Do you think I’ll need a bugnet?

What time do you think you'll be there? I should be able to get there around 6. I don't think you will need a net, but it's better to have it and not need it...

If we need to use bugnets in early April, it's gonna be a long summer and not in a good way. Goobie and I had a good conversation recently about "packing for possibilities" vs "packing with experience". Both are valid approaches. My Blackbird XLC will either have its winter topcover or the bugnet zipped on since I like the footbox and shelf features so much.
The game is the best teacher.

The Kettle Moraine southern unit was were I introduced myself to hiking/backpacking in Wisconsin. After that I would drive out almost every weekend for a hike on the Ice Age or Nordic Trails (or sneak in on The John Muir/Emma trails in the spring before they opened up for the bikes) for a dayhike or overnight at the #2 shelter. Good times. Love that place.
I'd be interested in hiking, depending on how far you go.
