If you go by the specs on the site, plus the weight of the extra down listed, you're looking at:

    48 ounces for the TQ
    45.75 ounces for the UQ

So just shy of 6lbs for the set.

Y NOT, my Dad had a Gastric Bypass surgery 6 years ago. The first 3 years where the worst for the cold and year since has gotten better. Similar to you, he used to be / work outside in sub zero temperatures wearing only a vest over a sweatshirt. He is to the point now where he enjoys clearing the driveway again and being outside for a few hours doesn't bother him like it did in the early years after the surgery. Hopefully, this is helpful for you and might give you some light at the end of the tunnel. Good Luck and enjoy those quilts!

Nice thing about a minus 40 degree quilt set is that you don't have to specify Fahrenheit or Centigrade.

It doesn't much colder than -5 C here in the Carolina Piedmont so I haven't invested in quilts yet so my approach is to ad-hoc equipment I already have. I practice in the backyard before hitting the trail so I if mess up, I'm only 10 m from the backdoor instead of 80 km.

Hokey Smokes, tsshaw78! You're comfortable at -5 C with just a 3/4 pad? You must be able to boil water by stirring it with your foot!
