KY/ FLAT LICK FALLS/ MAY 3, 4, 5

Ok, I am trying this again. Last year I attempted to plan a hang near Laurel Lake, due to high temps and the ranger not getting in contact with me last minute for details we had to cancel.

This year I am going with a different location. All camp sites are free, it is first come first serve.

There are camping pads available, many trees, bathrooms, showers, a pavilion near the camping area, plenty of parking, a beautiful waterfall, paved and gravel paths, 2 ponds to fish in (we had no luck last year)and a beautiful creek that flows through the area.

Flat Lick falls is located off the Sheltowee trace so you can drive or hike in, or enjoy a day hike in the area.

We will be bringing in a truck load of firewood. Food is everyone for yourself unless everyone would like to do a potluck. There is electricity near the bathrooms, several fire pits as well!

The nearest town is McKee, Ky. Larger town is London Ky!

Cant wait to see yall there!!!!

I'll put it on my calendar. Escaping Louisville on Derby weekend sounds better anyway!

I do a "Derby Escape Ride" that weekend, and should be able to incorporate this into the ride. No sure how many, if any, other riders would be coming.

I found an address for Flat Lick Falls. Is there a more specific location? I want to create a route for the ride in/out, something that can be sent to the others on the ride. Do you know the campground location? You mentioned it can be driven to.

That is it as far as an address goes. It is a bit off the beaten path, but google maps will get you there! I m also going to try to make at least 2 signs, because the last couple of turns get confusing.
Oh and if anyone needs a tent site there are gravel pads!!!

Escape Derby Ride

Looking at the map that is perfect as far as the location!!! There is a gas station at the end of Hays rd, right on 421!
