Made first hammock with this material. Thought it was fairly easy to sew. Used Tera 80 thread and 70/10 universal needle. Ordered 12 feet and without any cutting ended up with 11’4” x 60” wide. Weight came in at 7.5 ounces or 213 grams with 8” CL on each end. Now I have to get brave enough to slide my 212 lbs into the hammock. Found out the weight rating after placing my order. Planning on living on the wild side and pushing the rating tonight. Gives me another reason to lose some weight.

That's an awesome looking hammock. I missed the introductory offer so I am now waiting on the new hammock material to be announced before pulling the trigger on this. I'll probably order 12 feet of both

I know. This why I bought the material originally. I was being a little facetious. Being an Engineer, I definitely appreciate safety factor or design factor (whatever they are calling it these days).

I slept in it last night and thought the material was very good. My wife took a nap in it this afternoon. It got her approval.

    A couple of observations:

    1. Really liked that I could see the UQ position.
    2. Also nice to be able to see out (at distance) right through hammock.
    3. Seemed like I had a little less support than my other hammocks (mostly 1.6 flavor).

It will go out on a backpack trip in a couple of weeks. Curious to see the material durability over time.

Thank you. I ordered both the blue and black material. Looking forward to more time with this one!

Did not know there is another material being announced. I have to stop - can’t add any more hammocks to the collection...

The other material was first teased over 3 months ago, but has still not been properly revealed.

It's Kyle's fault. I was on the fence about making hammocks until I saw his YouTube video and now I am addicted! The good thing is that I have been making them for the scouts in our Troop who obtain the Eagle Scout rank which has been given me plenty of opportunities to feed my addiction

I got my order in. Waiting for my Chameleon zippers to come in, and going to make a Chameleon bug net with the monolite.

I had Jared at SLD make me a tarp sleeve and a small gear hammock for my ridge line out of the Dark Olive Monolite. I think it’s a great application for it. I’m really digging the look and feel and breathability of this fabric. Has anyone made a bottom entry bug net out of this yet? Seems like another great application for it, I’m thinking.
