You can trim this off and it will be the exact size listed on the product page. The excess space allows us to include your order number and information, as well as center everything up during production. You can certainly use the entire blank size, but just mindful to start your seams on the colored part of the fabric or when you turn it right-side-out you will see the clear part. Hope that helps!

    Carter...

So you roll the hem on the non-stiffener side (makes perfect sense), but do not sew it. Is this correct.

adding a short piece of double sided dyneema tape for this section might be a good product modification/upgrade

No, you continue the roll hem sewing around the entire perimeter. Kyle is just making sure that you understand not to sew into the bag in the video because it is meant to be waterproof.

Sorry for the confusion! I might talk to him about adding an annotation that mentions continuing the rolled hem stitching around the whole mouth of the bag.

Thank you this makes since. And close examination of the still shows the seam... It just got confusing, a little as he stressed not to sew the material away from the stiffener. All is good. super high quality edit on the video. Segmenting initial, middle, and final steps made it very watchable over so many drone on and on and on and never get to the point videos....

I did not sew along the entire perimeter, but used some extra dyneema tape to attach the rolled hem to the inside of the bag.

Kyle's video kept emphasizing not to sew along the top except to the webbing because it would leave holes "which is no good"

I also found it much easier to attach the webbing to the bag before turning it right-side out.

Made all three bags this afternoon/evening.

Easy project and useful, although the small bag could be another couple of inches deeper

Just finished the first of two bags. Man, these things are a snap to make. The video is great. After watching it, I decided NOT to trim the top because you roll hem it and the clear edge magically disappears. Worked great!

My only complaint is that they don’t offer a larger bag. HOPE one is is the works.

So glad you liked the video, Redfish. Kyle and I had a blast making it. I can't wait to make more.
