Thanks. I’ll have a look at all the above mentioned.
I was hoping someone could clarify Odoland stakes quality/strength seeing they are ment to be the same aluminum as the groundhogs.
If they are then they seem to be a good deal. Just hard to find suppliers in Australia.

I just bought a pack of 6" Kelty J-stakes but haven't had a chance to use them yet. I've got a couple of sets of the coghlan Y stakes that work fine here in FL. They don't deal well with rocks though.

The J-stakes are lighter but I believe will hold just as well in most soil conditions. I'm hoping to get out soon and give them a test run.

Ive been using these Kungix stakes without much issue. I did bend one, but I was also stepping on it weird. If the dutch ones are better, I would say fork over the extra fifty cents a piece for them. As stated before, not sure what shipping would be for you.

I just bought a 10-pack of the Coghlan's 9" stakes for $8.99 on ebay. Or get them at Walmart for about the same at $.88 each.

I use 7" 3-season but decided to get these for winter since they're a little longer. MUCH better quality than the random stuff I got on Amazon. These are legit, with thicker material and not a weak spot at the top where the notch is. You can pound on these like MSR, Sierra Designs, etc.

Another vote for the Wally World stakes...

My primary stakes are the MSR Mini Groundhogs. My UL stakes are Ruta Locura carbon fiber. For winter I use gutter nails, but always have one or two of the Wally World stakes with me.
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

Also using Walmart Y stakes. Bought them at least 5 years ago for a quick outing since they were cheap. Figured when they broke I'd replace them with something better. Couple are bent but none have broken.

I just pound them in about an inch or so. Doesn't sound like much but they really freeze in. Plus any more and you may not get them back out unless you pour warm water on them.

When they freeze up, sometimes pounding them IN another quarter inch or so frees them up enough that they can be pulled out. If not, a tap in all 4 of the N, S, E, W directions loosens them some more. As obvious as it now sounds, I never thought to try warm water, but the methods I mentioned have always worked.
