Thanks a ton. There is a more level way into 3& 4, just not from the parking area, but just down the way a bit.

Sorry guys. Going to bail on this one. Next time!
    I'd rather be hanging.

I'm glad to see this. When I read about the stairs I started rethinking my whole pack. I'm a big fan of car camping and throwing stuff in 'just in case'.

Due to unfortunate circumstances, departure has been delayed and this newbie won't be arriving until dark. Please save me a couple trees.

There are other sites nearby that you could have your own homeplace as well. What is the interest?

I know this already happened or cancelled due to the virus, but throwing my name in the hat for any and all meetups and hangs in the area for the future. Moving to WA (Bremerton area) from Hawaii, and sadly, there is not a lot of camping out here. Hikes yes, but no backpacking allowed. I love to teach and DIY a lot for those interested in the whoopie sling and sewing instructional things

Huh? Washington is one of the best backpacking states in the union! Welcome to the PNW.

I strongly recommend getting these two books by Douglas Lorraine.
    Backpacking Washington
One Night Wilderness: Portland (covers your general area)

and if you want to drive a little further, i also recommend picking up his other two books for Idaho and Oregon.

I meant there is not a lot of camping/backpacking in Hawaii.
