Just ordered a HG Standard with doors and posted on the HG vendors forums a few times hoping for some input.
I have had half a dozen tarps in silnylon and silpoly, that all used the same single internal center pole and I love the spacious cavern it creates and that it keeps the tarp off my side when the wind is up.
The DCF won't have any stretch, but truth told all the flex is in the pole rather than in the tarp. I was never ever able to embrace the over-the-tarp pole mod, using my trekking pole because I was using fixed length poles that were too short. Last year I made a set of DIY adjustable carbon fiber trekking poles that are plenty long enough when extended, but I seeing the difference in how the tarp opens with a trekking pole versus an internal pole I am concerned I will miss the internal pole...
Has anyone tried a single center internal pole on a DCF tarp or should I give up on that idea?
