I'm not a big camo fan, but if it's the right kind it can look really nice. The camo DCF tarp I had from Hammockgear was a good example. A fairly detailed, natural pattern that you couldn't really tell if it repeated. The other more plain stuff looks like 60's Vietnam camouflage...just plain ugly IMO.
Call me schizophrenic but I had a vendor make me one with a black side and a gray side. I figured I'd set it up depending upon which side I wanted more privacy (black) and which side I want to blend into the snow surroundings (gray). To be honest, I haven't tried it out yet. It's my largest tarp that I picked up for the ridge runner and I'm usually in a smaller GE - hence smaller tarp.
Beautiful looking tarp! One of two I'm considering. Are you still in Spokane? I'd love to see it in person...
Thanks for the pics! The charcoal grey is darker than I thought... which I like.
No preference, huh? What about for the under-tarp ambiance specifically? Any preference there?
Oh man, I wish we lived closer. That's exactly what I need to make my decision...
Ticks are hard to see on black.
Gray will likely blend in better then black I would think.
Another sample of the grey sil 1.1. Great color for blending into the forest in winter which is when my hot tent is in use.
