Hello from Central NC! New hammock camper here as of 1 year ago and don't think Ill ever go back to a tent. I'm hanging with a 12 ft ridgeline HG cuben tarp, 20 degree HG Incubator and a 50 degree DIY top quilt & REI sleeping bag...for now. Just enjoying all the time I get sectioning the AT on my time off from teaching and looking forward to through hiking the CT in 2020. Happy hiking!

Great place to meet local hammockers, check out what other people are using and get some tips. Not to mention great food and camaraderie. Just follow the link to the sign up sheet if you want to go. Gunner76 and Terminator host a great hang.
The Mt. Rogers/Grayson Hang is also happening the same weekend. I know a few people were having to decide on which to go to.

Welcome from Wake Forest and a fellow Mountaineer. I'm with you about not wanting to go back to a tent. One night in Linville Gorge on the ground convinced me that hanging between trees seemed like a much better idea.
