    New BWCA Map Company

Ran across this, not affiliated in any way but I looooooooooooooove maps and the BWCA. These are definitely interesting. If you're a BWCA nut like I am make sure to check out the "wall map". My tongue hit the floor

Just talked to my buddy that I use to work with at Rutabaga Paddlesports who still works the Canoecopia show weekend. They are going to be there with a booth for anyone who attends the show. I really hope (and I'm sure they will) that wall map is on display.

Interesting. Unfortunately I'm already committed having bought a Fisher set. The wall map would be nice though!

I would love to hang this at the house. I just have no wall space left.

Wow, that wall map looks spectacular, but $180!!??

FWIW, I just use GaiaGPS on my annual BWCAW trip, and pretty much every day have to help the guys with the paper maps find portages, etc. No substitute for knowing *exactly* where you are.

I do use GaiaGPS for fun but I would fundamentally disagree, there is no substitute for map/compass navigation skills. I always have a map / compass with me and the knowledge on how to use them. Electronics in the field have several points of possible failure.

    Maps, maps, maps. Love it.

Too many people have lost the ability to read a map. Even an electronic map can take you down the wrong road.

I agree, there is no comparison to the knowledge of navigation skills and hard copy map. Once this has been mastered, then use the electronics for quick checks. But when the battery dies unexpectedly or drops down the crevice, you still have the map and skills at your disposal.

Wish they made these for my area. A cabin with the wall map......**salivating**
Enjoy and have fun with your family, before they have fun without you
