Finally finished my backyard treeless hammock test area

I finally installed my hammock test area in my treeless yard.
    2 12' 6x6 pressure treated
    2 20' 2x6 pressure treated
6 bags of sika post foam
    4 10"x1/2" carriage bolts
10 pieces of 2x6 spacers for between the 2x6 spans
    1 rental of a 10 inch 2 man auger
    _______
Posts are placed 16'.3" apart.(that's how they landed)
4' in the ground with 3 bags of foam each hole.
8 foot out of the ground tied in with 2 2x3 across the top with inner supports.
It seems very sturdy. I just need to do some touch-up work tomorrow.
    ________
The bags of Sika post foam is interesting. But a word of caution it's not designed for human support. I spoke to a friend of mine who does testing for building materials and he mentioned to me that the reason why I Sika does not label it for human support is because it will cost that millions of dollars to do testing. But it's not publicized but it's very common and the deck building industry.

Excellent job y not! I went a similar route in my treeless backyard. I went with cement and stone. I never saw that foam stuff. I also didn't do the top rail, which I can add later as the ones I've seen look very nice.

Looks great! We're currently in a town home with shared "green space", so I'm limited to portable stands until we get back into a standalone home with a private yard. Taking notes for later- thank you for sharing!

Finally finished my backyard treeless hammock test area

Do Mark and Hank have any brothers that live in TX?

    Awesome setup. I am jealous!

Edit: Did you really measure it to 0.3”? Also, I think you meant 8 ft out of the ground?

Excellent photos, much appreciated. With four feet anchored in the ground and the cross brace, that looks like it'll be perfectly solid and better than a lot of trees I've hung from. I hope you enjoy it.

Very nice, keep us updated on the foam, please.

Sharp corners of those post wear on the straps quickly. Whittle down those edges and sand smooth.
