    Or search for "structural ridgeline", but be prepared to do a lot of searching and read a lot of uninformed opinions. Best bet is hang as high on the tree as you can to maintain a usable angle. Forget about trees more than 18 feet apart (IMO).

    You mean rigging a highline on the trees and hanging your hammock from that? Of course you can! Just be aware of the forces involved and choose your trees accordingly. Going past the 30 deg rule? Well, look at Tentsile. Or slackline. It is totally doable, but it involves more thought than a normal hang.
