Hail and well met from Albuquerque NM

    Hi all!!

New here from Albuquerque NM. Got into hammocks a few months back and been looking around for advice and projects to do with mine. I've slept in it once.. have a small horror story from it (something came up and was tugging on my suspension). Not fully experienced though. I love hammocking and always carry it with me because you never know when you may find a nice spot.

Right now I don't have an under-quilt. I have a wool blanket I put under my body, it works great during the summer.. haven't tested in winter but I'd imagine it's not epic.

    Anyways! Hello!

    Peace,
    Onions

Sounds like a “Chupacabra” to me.. they are notorious around these parts.

I had a squirrel climb on my suspension early one morning and it was startling to say the least but thank goodness I saw it or I would have thought a bear grabbed my suspension and shook it.

I like to think it was a skinwalker... ran too fast into a fenced off sketchy ditch. didn't sound terribly human either

That sounds fun, ha ha! Good thing you caught yours... would've been spooky as well.. maybe it was a coon that messed with mine.

On a canoe trip in the Adirondacks, my son decided to take an afternoon nap in his hammock. Despite my repeated admonitions to not bring food into his hammock, he brought a granola bar, which attracted a squirrel. I guess he didn't zip up the bugnet, because the next thing we saw was this squirrel bouncing like a pinball around the hammock, up against the bugnet, off my son, and every which way. It was truly hilarious to watch. My son, half asleep, unzipped the bugnet so the squirrel could escape, then he zipped the bugnet back up, and went back to sleep!

I have never laughed so hard.
