Length of superfly tarp for Ridgerunner

Hey there, I have a Ridgerunner hammock and have read tons of tent pole mods for the superfly tarp. None of the posts say the length of the superfly. The standard is 11ft but u can get it 12 or 13 ft too. Cant decide which would be best for ridge runner with the pole mod. I would love to here your thoughts on the length. Thanks in advance

I have a Warbonnet Ridgerunner and I use a 12 ft SimplylightDesigns Winter Haven if I suspect any inclement weather. The 12' will let you nearly close the doors which is nice in cold and windy environments.

Yeah....I use my "old school" superfly with the ridgerunner. Closing the doors with or without a pole mod is kind of problematic. I'd think a longer ridgeline would be better. I had the Cloudburst for a while but went back to using my SF.

Though 13 ft sounds large, 13 ft is about the recommended distance between the apex points (where the lines come together) in the suspension. So if you get a tarp that long, you will be able to close the doors. Though the weight/size might seem fearful, do not compare it to zero. Just consider the difference between the 12 ft and 13 ft model. I'm guessing the small "additional" weight to have a snug, out-of-rain, out-of-wind, shelter is worth it. The downside is the need for wider spaced trees - but you'll need those for the Ridge Runner anyway.

More than adequate in length and width as long as you pull the sides out.

Recently received a 13' mountainfly per recomendarion from WB and it does a terrific job of covering the entire hammock from Apex buckle to Apex buckle.

I'm actually surprised that they dont offer one or two 13'ers stock for their RR buyers...

Yep, for closing the doors I would recommend a 13ft tarp. That's what I roll with.
