    Hammock stands

Does the hammock stands that are available let you put the head end lower or is it real straight?

I have the tensa4 and you can put your head lower and I would guess with the Tato you can do the same with your suspension.

with the Tensa4 the instructions requires you to put the head in lower

They will all allow you to place your head height how you want it as you still have a length of suspension between the stand and the hammock. You make the head height adjustment with the suspension length as normal.

Depends on the stand: need specifics. Type “hammock stand” into Amazon and approximately 100% of the results have the supports too low and/or too close to accommodate a full-length hammock either at all or at anything other than a tight level pitch, if you want to be off the ground.

Tensa4, Tato, DIY versions: no problem.

generally even the lounger stands will let you do this, but not nearly as pronounced as you'd hang a proper hammock

I've been using four sections of the aluminum net military poles suspended by pulleys (couple of garage door pulleys that I picked up at the Habitat Restore). So head/foot height is determined by both the pulleys and/or the hammock suspension that is nylon straps fastened at the end of the 16 foot. Or 12 feet for a Hammocktent setup. The pulleys allow me to quickly and easily adjust the height or completely lift the hammock up out of the way. In addition using the suspended pole divides the load versus having the side oblique pull with other suspension systems.

I use to use two tripods and the suspended pole previously. This is also adjustable up and down, but not nearly as much as having the pulleys fastened to the ceiling, or in my case suspended from the red iron truss frames.

Thank you community. I’ll look into that Tato one since you say I can get my head end lower. Now when I go redwood and they say sir you can’t use a hammock here. I’ll say, “ don’t tell me what I can and can’t do doing my best city slicker mechanic line.
You know what I mean set up that bad boy and say I weren’t need no trees son.

With the Tato Stand you have complete control over how each end can be hung. You can vary the length of the suspension at each end, or an easy to do it is to simply vary the height of the tripod at either end. Totally controllable, no worries!

Have you done a video on this stand! If not, I would love to see “Shug of the third person” set it up and pontificate on its usefulness!
