70” wide hammock. Do I need a wide UQ?

Not at all. That is a frequently asked question and you could look back at many other threads here in the forum concerning this topic. The UQ only needs to fit your body size and that doesn’t change because your hammock is wider or narrower. Most are 44” wide and occasionally some bigger folks may go with a 48”. The suspension system on nearly all UQ will simply conform to your position in the hammock. It may require some adjustments if you change your hammock or your position in the hammock, but not a new UQ.

You wouldn't need a wide under quilt BUT if you aren't back packing or worried about weight you may want to consider one as there's more room for errors with a wide. Where a regular may slip off your feet/shoulders a wide builds in some leeway for this slippage.
