Just checked the weather. Looks like 50 percent chance of rain Saturday and Sunday. The way our weather man goes, that means 70 and sunny. Bahaha. Bring a good tarp and a rain jacket. As long as no rain before then, streams should be clear. We have had tons of rain in February with lots of flooding. Rained yesterday, but no other rain in forcast until Saturday.

Unfortunately, I’ll have to pass this go round. Enjoy and post pics with the trip report.

Hey Jim, the parking lot I'm looking at is the first one on the right going up beside white top Laurel toward the town of Konorock. The parking lot is big, right next to the VA creeper trail, and pretty sure has a bathroom. The place we would camp there is across the creek to get some privacy and spread out. We have 2 other options, but the one I listed has the most options. Once we get there we can call your friend and give him specific roadways and landmarks. If that works.

Quick weather report. The temp turned cold the last 2 days with highs in the 20's. Fri is supposed to be mid 40's and rain. Bring warm stuff, a dependable tarp, and rain great just in case it rains all weekend. Where these are mountain streams, they clear fairly quickly.

I'm so jealous!! I have to work all weekend. Not that I could have made it that far anyway, but it sure sounds like a chance for a good time.

I'm gonna load up in the morning. Can anyone think of anything I need to bring? Gonna bring a Coleman stove and a cooler with some drinks. The store we are meeting at is probably less than 5 miles from where we will camp. They serve breakfast, lunch and dinner. There is also a coffee shop in town. Never been, but I know it stays busy. There is also a grocery store right as you come into Damascus if we really need anything. They are calling for snow flurries tonight, highs around upper 30s tomorrow, but warming up to 60 Saturday. High chance of rain or snow every day. Remember to bring waders cause we are camping across the creek meaning you will have to Wade to get there. See everyone tomorrow.
