I also worked with SLD for custom Trail Lair using Drings.

Currently ive designed a custom sock tent bivy solution that a vendor is making for me. Ill share on forums when done. We are on our 3rd version.

In the meantime a good ready to go version might be the Clark, or the Sierra Madre Nube, or a few other vendors.

I concur that would be cool! You could use net or winter cover with just mininal weight penalty with a 20 or 30d tub.

So if I have this right I make a bugnet tent with a sil bottom and then cut a big hole in it, add a zipper so you can add a bugnet to fill that hole I cut into it. Is that the plan?
    Peace Dutch

Wait a minute, sounds like that's just a tent. Is this some devious joke? Now, maybe if you made the tent more of a dome shape, and then built it out of blocks of packed snow you'd have something. And to keep the weight and bulk down you could freeze dry the blocks of snow. Heck, if you sold freeze-dried snow blocks for ground-hammock-domes I am sure us Canadians would be buying them up like they were hotcakes. With maple syrup. Which by the way tastes really good poured over packed snow.

    Just sayin'.

There are some examples here of pitching a standard Hennessy on the ground. I guess that should work with any other hammock of the same type as well.
