30* Hang angle is with person in it or when hanging empty hammock? I had it set for a perfect 30 and then she got in it and now it is at 38.

Thankfully at 9 years old, she is not disturbed by these things. LOL
I just need to know if I need to adjust it so that it is at 30 when she is in it.
I think the answer is 30 when loaded. Hammock hang calculator for example, bases it force/load calculations on 30 degrees by default, but those loads would be trivial without a person in the hammock.
I prefer a deeper sag myself. I think the 30° “rule” is a compromise to avoid the higher-on-the-tree hassles of getting a deeper sag on a full-length hammock, while still assuring a tolerable amount. If it feels right though, it is. As long as you’ve exhaustively tried all 16 angles between 45 and 30 for a few nights to be sure, naturally.

I just hang 'em top of head or neck high without me in it and all done. Usually just about right.
Shug
Whooooo Buddy)))) All Secure in Sector Seven
go with what ever is comfortable..... the thing is that you DO NOT want the suspension angle BELOW 30* when the hammock is occupied.
