I've been pumped to get my new goodies and had a chance on Christmas Eve to get out and do a test hang in the local park. It was a success all around. I have yet to sleep in it but later this week I'm going to take it up into the snow on a short snowshoe hike and give it a test-run.
From my limited test-run I'll sleep well!
Looks like you're set up pretty good. I like to test out my gear closer to home so I can bail if something goes wrong.
Keep your eye on the bug net which may collect frost which will give you a nice micro snow storm.

I have my ground pad for just in case but worst case, I could walk back to the car with the headlamp. I love thrashing around in the snow and there is nothing as nice as a good 6-12 inch dump on you while you are sleeping. You get out and there is fresh terrain all around you.

Nice. You might want to reposition your biner to the other side of the tree. You are putting a tremendous amount of pressure on the biner and the strap. It's Best if the strap comes straight through the biner instead of pulling against the biner

People keep saying this, but it’s not actually true. You get less than two times the force on the biner. The strap takes some point load, but not more you have, say, on a buckle or a knot. If you have a climbing rated carabiner tested to something like 24 kN, you are not anywhere near the limits. Side loading the carabiner (especially the gate) is another thing, but it’s something that’s easily avoided by keeping the carabiner away from branches.

Merry Christmas all! The biner was intentionally pulled around that side so that I could position for the dubious reason of taking a better picture. The entire set-up was only there for maybe 15-minutes. I did have an embarrassing tumble as I stood on the tarp which is very slippery as it slides against itself! :-)
