Ditto on the sit pad.I also use it for my "kneeling knee" when doing little chores under the tarp.Since I use either a gear hammock or at least a boot hammock(both by Simply Light Designs) I don't need much under the hammock. But if I do,the rain kilt is always ready to serve.
I have a 2x3 ft portion from a old yoga mat. Small, foldable, but soft and warm on your feet
Nothing...less to carry
I am still 18 but with 52 years of experience !
Welcome to the forums Mudslinger!
My original TYVEK was 5'X7' cut to serve as ground cloth beneath a backpacking tent. While larger than needed for hammocking, I did not want to cut it down to preserve its functionality for under my tent. After years of carrying a 5x7, I have come to appreciate the size and would feel less prepared with anything smaller. It is useful so many times during a day in the wilderness where a smaller piece might not be.
I now have several 5x7 sheets of Tyvek including 1 in each of my vehicles with the spare tire and road-side emergency stuff- just in case.
