Nice! Great innovation, or improvisation, with the log!

Yeah. They seem to hold in our NE soil quite well

12' tarp with the gathered end required suspension on the hammock. I couldn't attach directly to the toggle on the pole.

    And no tarp

First time using it as a solo
Figure it would be the best place if I were to go down

I did the same thing to my Solo. Replaced the stock toggle attachment which is only an inch or two long with a longer one (I think I made a 12 inch out of Amsteel) that provides easier setup of a tarp. Even an 11 foot tarp is a bit clunky to rig without the longer toggle attachment.

Would definitely be easier too with a toggle vs using a strap.

So my understanding is (correct me if I’m wrong) if one owns the Tensa 4 then the Tensa solo Can be achieved by using one leg that includes the largest dia tube, But you need the extension to take the tarp and a base cap?
Could you not achieve the same thing by using the tube below the largest dia on the Tensa 4, thus no need for the extension. Or is it to do with stresses.
Also I would be grateful if anyone can show how the titainium boom stakes should be tied.
    Thanks

Your understanding of the normal way is correct.

Doing what you propose would “work” but not pack down as small because 2 #2 tubes won’t telescope into the #1, would be a bit heavier, and we don’t have a foot developed for #2. Also using a #4 as tarp extension wouldn’t include the tarp loops we have on the #5.

Re Boomstakes, is this clear? https://www.tensaoutdoor.com/wp-cont...-Boomstake.pdf
