Introducing 0.75 oz MEMBRANE 10 Ripstop Nylon

Four years ago, we introduced MEMBRANE 10 nylon taffeta as our lightest, softest, and most downproof fabric ever.

Since then, we've searched the globe for a 10 denier ripstop to match. A fabric that could offer the same performance and buttery soft hand feel with maximum durability.

And finally... we got it. Today we're proud to introduce MEMBRANE 10 ripstop nylon.

At 0.75 oz, M10 RS sits in between typical 10D and 15D finished fabric weights, and with good reason...

Instead of a "barely there" ripstop or compromising on downproofness, M10 RS uses a significantly thicker ripstop grid and super high thread count, tight weave construction.

The result is a more durable ultralight fabric and exceptional downproofing (see IDFL results HERE). With a CFM (i.e. air permeability) of 4.4, it's also highly wind resistant for its weight. This makes it an excellent choice for a UL shell on an underquilt.

Lastly, as part of our larger green fabric initiative in 2019, M10 RS uses an ECO friendly, C6 PFC free DWR (Durable Water Repellant). This gives the fabric water resistance without the negative environmental effects of fluorocarbon based DWR formulations. If you're interested in reading more on topic of DWR, check out this article from Patagonia.com.

Maybe the best part for you is that we're launching with a full $2 OFF per yard through this week ONLY. The launch price is already reflected on the website. Regular price of $10.95 /yd will resume next week.

As always, thanks for your support of what we do . Enjoy!

WOW!!! That IDFL report is impressive, ZERO particles on the rotating box. I'm glad to see the move to a more ECO DWR finish as well.... GOOD JOB!!!

We have not. I'm not sure we have the same affinity for risk as you do Bill . Although I wouldn't expect it to ultimately bear more weight than the M10 nylon taffeta. The extra 0.09 osy is coming from an increase in fill threads, which balances the weave and increases downproofness. Any tensile strength gained by extra ripstop will be negligible if anything IMO.

Bah... Kyle's smaller than either of us.
And in my deep dedication to my bigger customers (and my beer fridge) I'm not sure my current 230 would be the same ideal test subject as my previous 190/200.

I've still got a dozen of the M10 models out there, probably a few creeping on the 100 night path even.
I'm honestly not sure if the Ripstop grid would hurt or help at that weight fabric...

Founder's Breakfast Stout... doesn't need a fridge and it's got yer meal and coffee all in one package.

Might have to give this a shot... unfortunately the Robic .74 never panned out as a nice hammock. Coating was clammy and the feel was off. Nice stuff for a splash bivy still...

Yeah, a microporous WPB fabric will never match the feel of a regular hand- feel specific nylon, IMO. The MTN 7d has its place though. I like it a lot for UL shells in clothing for poor weather.
