Am I able to flip the Explorer so I can lay with no bug net?

I am looking at getting an "all in one" hammock camping solution for my girlfriend. I have a Henny Explorer now but have never thought to flip it to get rid of the bug net for times where it is not necessary. I am seeing some cheaper alternatives that offer this ability. Can the Hennessy Explorer be used like this?

I wouldn't even try it. As you say, there are cheap hammocks you can do this with, but I've never heard anyone trying it with a Hennessy.

Sure you can flip it. You can do whatever you want with it. It's yours.

If Hennessy thought it was a viable option, I assure you they would advertise that capability.

The Explorer, like all Hennessy hammocks, is an asym design, so whatever direction you were laying in would be reversed by flipping the hammock. Most people wouldn't realize that, and would put tremendous stress on the bugnet by laying in it "backwards," so to speak.

Since it has a ridge line, no but if you contact 2QzQ and have a mod 4 done, you can zip the netting back, put it in the bag 2QZQ provides and poof, you have no but net in your face.

I was going to add this - that any hammock with a structural ridgeline can't be "flipped." I have a Byer Moskito Hammock, with no ridgeline, that can be flipped (but don't interpret that as a recommendation for the Byer Moskito hammock - I don't even use that hammock anymore).
