I wish I had seen this sooner. I was just at their office in Troy yesterday and they had people in there. The trails are super well traveled right now because they had a trail run race this weekend. I hiked a down and back of the whole trail and the sites looked good, including Yates Place. Hoping I can get a couple days off to come join y'all. Does anyone know, give or take, how long the road from Yates to the Trailhead is? I was contemplating hiking to Yates the first day, then going back to get my truck the following morning.

I called Ranger station just now and a nice lady answered phone. She said they will fix toilet seat, both hinges. I will check in two weeks, and if not fixed by then will try a different solution.

Fire

wood is secured, and I’m hoping hoping hoping at least half of wood is dry-seasoned. There has been a problem in past with green wood that would only burn after being stacked on a fire that’s already burning—tough to do when it’s all green. I’m hoping for best and have had several discussions with our supplier, but they deal with a tree man. It’s hard to tell if tree man is a whodoer (says one thing and does what he wants, kinda like cooks in some restaurants that burn my medium rare steaks) Or tree man might be so overwhelmed and busy that green wood is all he’s got.

Sorry I haven't had the chance to call them PG, I just saw this message! I'm glad its getting fixed though, it sounds like we'll need it. I'm planning on bringing out the finest china and silverware (plastic forks and Dixie plates

) for all the meals, as my cooking might end up hurting someone. I also may end up bringing along a friend whose never been hammock camping before, so that could be fun. I've got a spare hammock/suspension, tarp, and top insulation, but does anyone have a spare UQ that he/I could borrow?

Also, are we planning to do the same "offsite extracurriculars" that we've done in the past? Gas and his son haven't signed up for the hang, and I haven't heard anything from Shooter either, but I know a couple of the guys from the Medoc Mountain hang were interested in going. I've got money for ammo if someone will bring the toys.
