Stacking quilts especially underquilts works great
Sometimes I hang ponchos or blanket over hammock ridgeline and use underquilt protector
Or even hang another hammock underneath almost but not touching underquilts
I hope you hang with us and stay warm and drink hot coffee in mornings. I’ll start off the liars contest in the morning with coffee in hand—
I might say to someone who looks a little cold.
It was so hot last night—I got a sunburn...

Saturday night supper is pot luck, you might want to bring some food to share, as well as you might want to try someone else’s creations. Cook any way you will like—or don’t cook at all and bring food that’s already cooked.
Bring your own water or get water from park office—I’m bringing my own water.
All other meals are on your own
Some of us eat together at restaurant after packing up on Sunday morning. Restaurant is 15 minutes away—you probably pass it on way in.
Bushcrafting is an art I’ve knot yet learned—I’m into simple knots that work for me and will be glad to swap knots with you, and tell lies while you cook.

I've always been fascinated by bush craft!
I'm sure you wouldn't cut anything green/ living in the state park though, right?
They have been good to us.

On staying warm in the hammock, along with layering and other suggestions already made, I've been 100% sold on wearing part or most of my insulating clothes to sleep in.
Makes getting up a whole lot easier too.
I too will something make and joy in it's making

I sure do enjoy those Grayson Highlands winter hangs but unfortunately the doctor has me that weekend. Still hobbling on a bad ankle. Probably looking at ankle replacement surgery later in 2019. Ugh!!

I sure do hate that for you my friend, knowing how much you love to be out there.
But I know you are glad to be working where you are, being able to carry on with the help of others and get so much accomplished.

    Happy New Years to all!!!!

    And thanks Shug!

A couple notes about the spread sheet in the first post.

I can not see everything on the page without scrolling and sometimes it is slow to respond.
If you look near the top left, you can click on 75% and see it all.
It doesn't stay at that setting when you leave it and come back but it's easy enough to click on that each time you open the spread sheet.

Also, if you have additional info to add, that can be helpful to see.

I added a Total at the bottom and froze the headliner. You can type in 95 at the view percentage and hit enter. It comes out pretty good on my screen.
I'll start thinking "SNOW" for you guys!!

I'm certainly not what most would call a Bushcrafter, but other than the occasional hot dog stick, everything a have fashioned has been well dead. At the FBH we would would set a ridge pole from 2 tripods on each end of the fire pit to hang cook pots, water pots and stuff to dry. Most if not all meals were community and served by the fire under a large tarp or parachute. We had lots of wood to use as we were out in the deep woods and about a 1.5 miles from the cars.
So most of the cooking gear was made for hanging, I'm gonna assume there wont be much the way of that here. I know GHWH is a far different set up, I'm excited to see how you guys do it!
WE spent most of the day keep warm by hunting, felling and lugging standing deads back to camp, oh and eating we ate alot!
