Hickery, I’m gonna wake Friday morning drinking coffee and telling lies with Gunner at Medoc Mountain...Please text me or call me Friday morning about road conditions
I don’t care how cold it is, want to know if roads are kinda safe—if not good, I’ll stay at Medoc
And if good, I’ll go2 Grayson Highlands-Mt Rogers and see y’all Friday late afternoon or evening “Early”
    Thanks Hickery

There's a weather page for Mt. Rogers, itself, with 6 day predictions for the summit at 1746 m. (5729 ft.) and also at 1000 m. (3281 ft.). From the topo map, I figure the Park Office is at 1200 m. (3937 ft.) and the campground is at 1120 m. (3674 ft.). If you click °F instead of °C at the left, it also changes meters to feet and wind speeds from km/h to mph. You can alternately click the two elevations to compare weather at the summit to that predicted at 1000 m. which is down on route 58 somewhere. Then maybe you can interpolate possible wind speeds at the campground. Know that there are sheltered places down the slope from the pavilion, so choose your hang site carefully. (Count the guesses in this process - we're definitely in SWAG territory.)

Hummmmm! Subtract 10 degrees; Add 20-30 mph; plus 6 inches of snow???????????????????

WV, I always try for the higher numbers except when it comes to wind speed.

Just signed up after long deliberation between this and Medoc mt. Can anyone confirm if there is power to the amphitheater thingy? I want to bring a pellet grill to cook for the pot luck and need a outlet.
