I gonna tell you a story
    Never been to Oz
Read Australian Aborigines hunters bush camped on desert. While hot in daytime, overnights can drop to 30* This is really cold if you ain’t got no blankets and all your wearing is a loin cloth
Before lying on the sand they’d build two fires and sleep between them and stoke them through night
If we build two long fires roughly parallel except a little V shaped but not closed on the narrow end, we can sit between two fires care must be taken not to build Too Big Bonfire because no one could stand intense heat
Lines kinda at an angle so temperature can be adjusted by moving to part with most clearance between fires
This will not accommodate a large crowd and also with a large crowd there are always one or two bonfire builders
A good story, I don’t rely on this to save me
If I freeze solid overnight, don’t call horse pistol until Sunday afternoon, so I can get full enjoyment of our hang

Depends on which forecast. Weather.com suggests a couple of inches Friday and Saturday. Accuweather calls for less but colder.

Not all who wonder are lost...But I'm probably just lost.

The link that WV posted for the mountain forecast shows cool temperatures with a light 15 to 40 mph breeze. I do hope our site is well sheltered from that light breeze.

Every forecast has changed since this morning. Do you think there is "fake weather"out there? Well ,we will get in a Winter Hang this year for sure. It's been mild the last few(except for the wind)! Are you gonna make it my friend ?

The campground is a good thousand feet lower than that.

I've used that site before for Roan in the winter. I'll never bank on it again. It suggested 23 for a low when it turned out to 6.
I was going to try out a different set up if temps looked to be above 0 with any level of certainty.
Now I think I'll just stick with a peapod, with a UQ and a TQ in a hammock sock. That should cover down to the minus 20ish range without too much trouble. That's about 85 ounces of down!

Well we won't need waders for this one. I generally check a few different sites then compare their findings to Damascus. If Damascus is the same, I subtract about 10-12 degrees.

Roche and I are planning on getting there around lunch Friday. Roche wanted to leave earlier; however the entertainment value of three extra hours standing around in the cold didn't win me over.

You don't want to see either of us sing or dance or juggle.
Self-deprecation is about all I have, which is better and more sanitary than self-defecation. Both can warm up a room. but the latter will clear it.
