What cordage would you choose if you could only have one?

I'm contemplating on placing an order for more cordage but want to make sure I get the right one. I am ultralight when it comes to camping so I do value weight savings. I have some experience with amsteel making whoopie slings and UCR's. I want to make a few structural ridgelines and whoopie slings for friends as well as some ridgelines for tarps. I'm debating whether buying lash-it/zing-it along side dynaglide or amsteel is necessary. Is it asking too much to go with just dynaglide and use it for everything? Am I missing out by just having one of these ropes? Many people say it's overkill to use amsteel or dynaglide on ridgelines or guylines, but I feel like overkill is paying shipping twice and buying huge excess amounts of rope.

In summarizing, what rope provides the most versatility for you and also best value? Is it worth getting all three or a combo of them, or can you do just one.

I currently use cinch buckles and an adjustable whoopie ridgeline. I weigh 150 lbs.

180' of zing it from dutch comes to $20 with shipping
dynaglide is harder to find but I can be patient
Amsteel is the most expensive of all (still have like 15 feet of it)

    Simply put, I wouldnt.
If I had to to choose 2, zingit/lashit/dynaglide, take your pick. And amsteel.

I'd never use amsteel for guy lines and I'd never use lash-it for suspensions.
If I can only have 1 "fancy" rope, its amsteel. Guy lines and ridgelines can be made with cheaper things.

Hey thanks I appreciate that response. Maybe what I'm getting is that dynaglide is in between, but not as good as Amsteel or zing it for their own purposes. Is zing it so good because it's relatively cheap? Also what size do you recommend

Simply put I agree. I'm going to contradict myself below, however, if cost wasn't a factor yes I would use amsteel for everything.

If you are a light individual I highly recommend looking into 2.2 mm lash-it. if you factor in a 5 x safety rating this stuff has about a 300-pound breaking point depending on your application. This cordage could be used completely for everything suspension guidelines you name it. It's just as spliceable and workable as Amsteel but due to its diminished size is lighter. Expense Wise It's far cheaper as well.

eBay has a 15% off coupon for anything Sunday. I can get 200 feet of dynaglode for 30 bucks or 150 feet for like 25

DynaGlide is strong and ok if you don't plan on splicing. Don't get me wrong, you can splice it but not as easy or efficiently as dyneema (amsteel and lash-it). Dyneema is 8 strand and DynaGlide is 12. And 12 strands of 1.75mm is hard to work and snags/frays way easier than Dyneema

Wow, that's small stuff. I like how strong it is but being hard to work with might kill the deal.

    I'll agree with chapinb above...

I wouldn't use Amsteel for guy lines and though I've seen people hang from zingit, I wouldn't.

Dynaglide is heavy for guy lines as well... but it can work for suspensions, whoopies & a structural ridgeline.

I'd have to go Amsteel for your suspension work & Zingit/Lashit for everything else.
Yes, my pack weighs 70lbs, but it's all light weight gear....

    Ditto, Bingo, Bam!

But do as I say and not as it do... I am a hopeless experimenter and have more and different types of cord that I could ever use.
