Suggestions For Fabric Synthetic Winter UQ

Made the decision to DIY a Winter UQ with 7.5 Apex Climashield. I made a Summer UQ in August and while not pretty it definitely works. I can't backpack anymore due to health issues so weight is of less importance. I would like something water resistant so I don't need a UQ protector or sock. I'm thinking of using a more robust fabric for winter, definitely calendered for some wind protection. Something like a calendered 1.6 HyperD.

Should I use a more breathable fabric for the inside or just use the 1.6 HyperD? Anyone have suggestions on inside outside fabric that fits my specs?

I use Membrane 10... it has a pretty good DWR and wind resistance.

I've used that on my Primaloft Gold shells and cowboy camped with no other shelter in warmer conditions including mist or light rain.

Point being... I don't think you get anything other than increased durability from going with heavier shell material.
If anything I'd rather have a 'windshell' of the M10 to slip over (like a bivy sack) if I was really looking to open camp. A double layer of .67 will do more for you than a single 1.6 in terms of shedding rain or moisture with the bonus being you could easily dry out that windshell if you did get heavy moisture on it.

If you want wind resistance, why not just make an underquilt protector. Those things come in really handy when it blusters. You can also easily wash it if it gets dirty with mud or rain splatters.
