Well Baldknobber’s pic was a Zpack tarp in a sleeve, so that would add significant bulk, and it looked like it was packed loosely?
Levi Tate’s photo looks like the HG DCF is tightly packed in a third party bag.
One Click’s photo of his HG DCF looks like mine when packed. Hard to say how big his is without a known reference. He did say it compresses down when packed. Mine sure does if I pack it someplace it gets the air compressed out of it.
Apollo’s is similar to One Click’s but has a mesh sleeve, and does look a little more tightly packed.
So, lots of apples and oranges being compared ...
I use my hammock for long distance hiking. Weight and volume are both important to me. In that order. Being the gram weenie I am, I would not want to add weight to lower volume.

After trying several tarps I just stuck with the silpoly. The silpoly vs. DCF ended up being about a 6oz difference. At that point, it was more about the fabric itself (setting up/taut/quiet) than it was about weight or bulk.
Your mileage may vary but one day of food and snacks takes up a bit less than a liter of space for me.

My tarp is the last place that I could save significant weight. Ive been happy with the Edge but always on a quest to travel lighter. I also really love the camo DCF
I looked at your pack list and perused your blog, and to me it looks as if you know what you're doing. Pack pic from one of your AT sections looks like a ULA Ohm, no?
You have to ask yourself if you're comfortable going from 62L to 38L, and from framed to frameless. Can you get both and give 'em a whirl? There's also a bit of a learning curve when it comes to packing a frameless. Also, my own happy zone for TPW with the Zero is about 15-16 lbs... end of day water carry with 19-20 lbs TPW is definitely out of that zone. Perhaps also consider framed and reasonably light (21oz) such as Zpacks Arc Blast.
The only thing on your gear list that really gets my attention, esp from the hammock perspective, is the Exped synmat and no UQ. I understand the go-to-ground necessity (reg requirement) in some cases — and I've done it — but not at the expense of the UQ. It gnawed away at my gram-weenie soul but I carried both for a 5 day hike in Baxter State Park... an extra 10.4 oz that was used only one night — horrors!
