Have to start packing the hammock gear and cold weather clothing for the hang.

I'm finishing a round of antibiotics and steroids trying to get well enough so I can enjoy the hang. I'll be there regardless of how I feel.
I've watched the forecast and we've gone from cold to warm, dry to wet. No way to tell until Thursday gets here.
It looks like at least we'll have a good group of folks unless they get skeerd of the weather. That just means more stew and chili for thems that come.

There's a good chance I won't be able to make it for the weekend I've got a ton of makeup work to do for school because of an upcoming thru hike, so I don't think I'll be able to stay all weekend. I may try and come up for the day on Saturday, but I'm not sure yet. I'll keep y'all updated.

Come when you can, leave when you have to. It's all about getting to the woods.

School comes first and hammocks come in at a close ( very close ) second. Hopefully you will at least be able to stop by and visit for a few hours and join us for a meal.

As much as we want you to attend, don't do so if it will make things worse.I'm finishing a round of antibiotics and steroids trying to get well enough so I can enjoy the hang. I'll be there regardless of how I feel.

You never now what mother nature will do until it happens. At last years Grayson Winter Hang, the hang was delayed by a day due to a major snow storm that kept every one out till Friday. Lots of snow when we got there but a warm front moved and melted all the snow and turned it into a mud hang. No fun. I attend the MAHA Spring Hang last year and it was snowing when I got there.

Hopefully no will be skeerd off by the weather. We will hope for cold weather but have to take what we get.
Picked up a screw in one of my tires and as they have 65K+ miles on them I figured I better get a new set put on ( scheduled for this Wed ) so I will be safe for the trip, Then the wife calls me and tells me that she has picked up a nail in one of her tires on her car so she will probably be getting a new set of tires also as hers are showing their age.

Bobo, you mean you didn't take hammocks study as one of your curriculums? Come by and sign up for extra credit. Your professor should be pleased!
I'm glad I found this thread. I'm in...1st group hang for me but not first time cold weather hanging.
Do these turn out to be more of a car camping expedition or is there a hike in?
Thanks
Dale
Medoc Mountain is car camping We go on day hikes, sometimes two groups—short hikes and longer hikes with your option of staying in camp relaxing and enjoying campfire
It varies by hang. This one involves a long hike from the parking lot of a couple hundred feet. There is a large parking lot next to the campsite with restrooms ( with showers ) and water next to the parking lot. We should be the only folks there as the group sites are normally closed this time of year. I had to fill out a special use permit and pay a special use fee for us to get the group site.Do these turn out to be more of a car camping expedition or is there a hike in?
I will be posting a large yellow "HAMMOCK HANG" sign at the turn off to the group site. Go up the hill a few hundred feet and we will be on the Right.
