    I also use Shug's idea,.,..

I use a JRB Quilt Liner / Summer Blanket for a little extra warmth. Definitely adds foot warmth.

My first topquilt was a HG 20* Burrow with a snapped footbox. Below 20* it was a bit drafty so I had Adam make me just the sewn footbox portion of a 40* Burrow. It has snaps placed appropriately to snap onto my 20* Burrow w/drawstring to keep it in place.

I rarely use it anymore as I have added topquilts with sewn footboxes for colder temps but, it is an effective solution for too-cold toes.

Did it early this year. Had the same problem.

Ripstop + fleece. Sewed a simple rectangle about 24” wide and the diameter of my foot box (dont remember of the top of my head. As an open rectangle it can be used in camp as a seat cushion over a rock or stump. I have put it under my butt in a camp chair.

I close the rectangle into a cylinder with velcro. Could easily use simple ties or snaps. the bottom closes with a drawstring. I sewed three simple tabs with a closing snap loop on my TQ about. 20” from the bottom. There are corresponding small loops of paracord sewn to the detachable footbox.

I velcro the rectangle closed. Cinch the drawstring tight. Slide it over my TQ and hoop the loop snaps of the TQ through the corresponding sewn loops on the detachable foot box. Works great. Easy to to take off or on. Would be easy to make with a costco throw. Takes me down another probably 20 degrees with ease. And it adapts as secondary gear in my kit.

I just had the UGQ guys make the opposite of this for me (HG said no, despite it being for a HG TQ): a footbox insert (i use a wide tq, so there is some extra space inside.) It's a 40 degree stuffed end attachted to the sides of a 50 degree foot box from the UGQ quilt. Will go up to about where the snapped footbox ends and will have a tie in the middle of the end to be tied to my footbox drawstring.

Once it gets here i'll post photos!

I bought a Thermarest Zseat cushion and use it in my foot box under my feet. Ever since doing this I haven’t had cold feet a single time yet.
