Well, I was about to Call B.S. , as a lot of my trees have this. I took caution in looking like an idiot and googled it. So I officially concur that you my have very well saved my life.
I started pinning a length of orange ribbon between trees I have hung from. To monitor what happens there. I have fond a multitude of branches that would have definitely put a hole in my tarp minimum. Not much deadly going on but the "healthy" trees are losing parts...
