Dutch Biners with Spider Daisy Chain Webbing

I am thinking of changing my suspension for winter to the spider daisy chain and was wondering if anyone is using titanium dutch biners to connect directly to the daisy chain from a continuous loop on the gathered end of the hammock. I noticed in Dutch's video on the biners he uses a CL larks headed to a tree hugger instead of connecting the biner directly to the strap. I suspect this is due to the small basket size of the biner compared to a typical climbing carabiner. I was also looking at the Mantis to connect them, but with freezing cold hands and gloves on I would prefer the least amount of fiddle. Anyways, any thoughts on connecting the dutch biners directly to the spider daisy chain?

I just bought Dutchware spider daisy and mantises a couple of weeks ago. I’m a fan of daisy chain except for the weight, but the spider daisy is so light, it’s a game changer. The ease of hanging and adjustment and ease of setting a bias toward feet high (count loops) are awesome and with spider daisy, the increased weight over other suspension options is almost negligible. I did buy the mantis version that is spliced onto a continuous loop. I just snatched out the old loos from my Half-Zipped and slid these right in. I haven’t had it outside with gloved hands, but I’ve played with it a good bit and I have no concern with me being able to push the mantis into a loop and hook the other side of the continuous loop on the open hook in any conditions. Of course the real test is the woods. I’ll update when I know, but I anticipate no issues.

I've used the spider chain with Mantis with driving gloves on. I don't recall any problems there.
No idea about heavy winter gloves with the same but I have enough issues with the dutch biners with anything else on or in my hands to not want to try that combination personally.

This is why I like the strap system. Gloves or no gloves it's easy to adjust.

Thanks for the feedback on the Mantis! The more I think about it the more I am thinking that I should just get the Mantis and try them out on a few snowy sub 20° F nights. If they don't work out I can always just switch to climbing carabiners. Then one of my kids can use the Mantis for a good easy 3 season suspension. I guess that is the power Dutch has, he can make you come up with a reason to buy everything he sells

I agree. I love whoopie slings, but I don't love them when my hands are cold or when I am wearing gloves.
