New HF’er - Georgia based

Hi, everyone. Been following the site for a bit now - glad to be a part of the platform now. Anyone near Atlanta/Smyrna/Georgia area? I backpack and hammock camp with my cousin often, but would love to catch up for a trip with some people who are local. Looking forward to following the page more closely!

Welcome from Blairsville. I've hung a hammock on the AT, Duncan Ridge, Benton MacKaye, and Coosa Backcountry trails. Got a friend there in Smyrna.

Welcome from Dalton, about an hour north of you. Need some organized north Georgia hangs. Looking at the outings forums, I rarely, if ever, see any.

Thanks for replying, guys. Good to see some GA locals. Totally agreed on the N. GA hangs..i was flipping through the outings..we should try and get a hang together. Not sure how to go about doing that.

Hi,guys! It’s easy to get a hang together. There was a thread about it a while back. Just pick a date and a place and post the details. Read the threads from some of the others for hints. They can be as small as few people meeting in the woods to HangCon with hundreds, but the end mission is the same- like minded people getting together to have some fun.
Do it and then share your pictures!
