I keep my straps in a stuff sack with my stakes and guylines. It gets tucked into the same side pocket that holds my tarp on the outside of my pack. That way when I get to camp everything I need to set up is in one spot and if it's raining I don't have to open my pack to get to it.

Whoopie slings or straps always go in the stuff sack with the hammock. I know that my hammock will always have the suspension with it. Sometimes I have to dry out hammock and suspension when I get home, but that's easy.

Ditto! I learned the hard way to keep the suspension in a 1 liter bag inside the double ended bag with the hammock and bury all that deep in the pack so there is absolutely no chance of arriving camp with no suspension.Anything carried in a side pocket gets tied or binered on and double checked.

My current suspension, Kokomo on YouTube, like all my suspensions stays attached to tarp—this way I’m not likely to lose it or leave it behind at home or on a tree.
Dutch’s ultra light straps are extremely compact, all goes in stuff sack—still attached.
If straps are wet, tarp is wet and it all goes in same bag.
How bout dirt and pine sap
    I doesn’t care
If I did care—straps can stay attached to tarp—tarp in stuff sack and straps wadded up in stinky sock and right in stuff sack with wet tarp.

With Kokomo, there is only a strap going to tree.
Not a separate hammock and tarp suspension.
I bag hammock in separate stuff sack to stay dry and clean in pack.
I know there’s hammockers like me who have forgot to carry their suspension or ridgeline. If it’s not attached——easy2forget. I forget something almost every trip

I store mine with my hammock as it's always attached to my Warbonnet Ridgerunner. I use these sap sacks in case the suspension is wet or dirty.

That's very interesting!! I wouldn't need to detached the straps from the buckles in my WBBB when they are wet or dirty.
    Thanks for sharing!

In a ziploc, inside the bishop bag with the hammock.

Like you, I like keeping stuff together... even after my kevlar huggers got all gooey-gooey on those white pines in Maine.

Tarp is the same... RL and guy lines stay attached, even stakes wrapped inside the tarp, also in a ziploc.

Greatly reduces the chance of forgetting something. No need for a packing list... I use a 'systems' approach and can't remember the last time I missed something.
