A little help with continuous ridge line with 2 carabiners

Looks simple, I want to give it a try, but just wondering what line I should buy? In the UK, so Amazon link would be ideal. And what length should I cut off to make the prusik knot? Or do you tie the prusik knot at one end? Sorry, I'm still a noob!

Zing-it is very popular for tarp ridgelines. Low stretch, strong and good visibility.

The prusik is made from a continuous loop and put on the line for adjustability. Prusiks on Zing-it require an extra wrap or two vs regular cordage due to it's coating. As you use it the coating starts to wear and the pruisk grips better.

Yes, you make a continuous loop with some zing-it and use that to make the prusik.

With that suspension, to be on the safe side I suggest going with around 35 feet. Leaves you enough to make a few continuous loops and gives you more line in case the trees are far apart and or large in diametre.

A continuous loop made of zingit can be spliced or knotted. Splicing is neater, but an alpine butterfly loop works for continuous loops on tarp ridgeline. I use 5 or 6 wraps on prusik loops, 5 wraps will yield 10 coils and 6 wraps will yield 12 coils. Most knot apps show prusik loops tied with 3 wraps yielding 6 coils.
Dutch might have soft shackle “continuous loops” available. This would allow you to connect and disconnect your tarp without hardware.
I keep my tarp connected to ridgeline. This will keep me from losing ridgeline.
Another way is to use two shoestring lengths of zingit. Double your length of zingit and tie a 5 or 6 wrap prusik onto your ridgeline, leave equal ends hanging down and loose. Your prusik is going nowhere. To attach to tarp end loops, insert one loose end through loop and tie a secure shoestring bow—both loose ends are tied together and tarp is connected. To disconnect untie bow. For more security tie an Ian’s secure shoelace knot and finish with a square knot on top of bow.
Dutch has quick connect and disconnect bling to keep you from getting you all knotted up!

Thank you so much for the feedback! I got back in touch with Warbonnet thanks to Shug, and got them to include that guyline with my Ridgerunner that hasn't shipped yet. I'll let you know how it goes! What's the worst that could happen?

VERY useful trick when testing various cords/knots/hitches for compatibility. When you're satisfied that you've got a compatible combo, replace the shoelace knot (double slipped reef knot! ) with a double fisherman's bend and you've got a nice, lightweight, compact, no-hardware solution.

another option (if you can find them over there) would be to use a slightly thicker (2-3mm cord) and a Nite Ize small figure 9 biner. Other than tying to the s-biner, no knots required.
