Thanks, I didn't realize until just now that when we put it at Hawkins Bridge we are actually paddling Tupelhocken Creek for the first bit.

You guys have my respect for hanging in the rain like that.. That takes guts, and a bit of sado masochism. Hope to hang out with you all when the conditions are better. Glad the event went well in spite of the weather. Cheers to all.

To be honest, I don't think any of us thought that it was going to be that bad or intense. Forecasts leading up to the event showed much less, and even as the weekend progressed it kept changing quickly, getting pushed back, etc.

By the time it was bearing down on us, pulling out en masse wasn't really much of an option.

We had 6 years with no precipitation of note. Heading into year 7, and seeing the preliminary forecast, I remember thinking that we were due for a year with questionable weather. Didn't realize it was going to be that memorable.

Sorry I missed all the fun on Saturday night. Does this mean there will be a blizzard for the winter hang? hmmmmm.

I have a query for everyone who stayed over Saturday night.
    1) Did your tarp come loose (and how)?
    B) How was your tarp anchored (trees, rocks, stakes (what kind of stakes))?
iii) How close to the ground were your tarp sides?
IV) Any lessons learned from this challenging evening?

    Thanks

I was staked out with 9” stakes, and I had it pulled down right to the ground on one side. I did good, nothing pulled out.
Here is my setup before the storm.
I don’t have a pic of my storm setup.

I used MSR groundhogs and my tarp was about a foot, foot and a half above the ground.
