    Thanks Giving

I just wanted to give a general thank you to this community for everything unique that it is. I have only been part of the hammocking world for a year now and have experienced a sense of camaraderie and friendship that is second to none. Before leaving to attend a group event by myself, my wife asked me if I was nervous camping around all those strangers. After attending her first group hang last month, she said "now I understand why you enjoy this so much." To all of you who have crossed my path, thank you and Happy Thanksgiving. You have all enriched my family's lives.

You've summed up my thoughts perfectly! My wife asked me the same thing for the fall MAHHA this year... especially since I was carpooling with someone I'd just met on hammock forums and hadn't even met in person. I've only been hanging for about 2 years - so still figuring stuff out. I've never met a nicer group of people who are so friendly, helpful, and supportive. Thanks to all --- have a happy and safe Thanksgiving.

I’m thankful for all smart and funny hammockers on Hammock Forums. Great camaraderie.
As football coaching legend George Allen said to his team (I’m paraphrasing and might already have an error)
    Some people know
    Some people don’t know
And some people don’t know that they don’t know

Sometimes I’ll post a reply to someone’s search for solution to a hammock problem.
Later posts by others will have better solutions!
    I say to myself—-WOW
    And realize I sometimes don’t know that I don’t know—Haaaappppyyy Thanksgiving

Thank you, reveille, for reminding us all to take pause and be grateful.
I am thankful for all I've learned here and for sharing what I've learned with scouts and others.
I am grateful for the people I've encountered here and in person who have helped make me a better person.

I am thankful for a lot of things, everyday. I am thankful for my health. I am thankful for the advancement in medicine to make my everyday possible. I am thankful for my wife and children, who are always by my side. I am thankful to be here among people who are so caring, and selfless in this hammock community.
    Thank you all,
    Happy Thanksgiving!

I’m thankful for hammocks because they bring us all together into our unique community.

I’m thankful for the wakeup call at the loco libre hang or I would have slept through breakfast

I’m thankful for the trucker’s hitch for obvious reasons.

I’m also thankful for butter, and bacon, and warm fresh bread in camp.
    I sew things on youtube.
I don’t sew on commission, so please don’t ask. Thanks.

I’m thankful for the hammocking community... which includes everyone who shares their great ideas and experiences as well as the vendors. I come from a specialized industry and serve as a vendor. Much as it seems to be in camping hammocks, my industry is propped up by just a handful of vendors, and everyone has to work together to ensure it all works. It’s a close-knit group.

What I recognized this month in how a few hammocking vendors have approached the traditional “Black Friday” sales is a constant focus on innovation. There's no really good reason that all vendors must have a sale, and it must be on this one day, ultimately distrupting shoppers, and especially vendors. Moving away from this convention shows a dedication to making things better for everybody... and I appreciate that!
