You need at least 50 posts and then must follow the guidelines here.
https://www.hammockforums.net/forum/...rum-Guidelines
Pay particular attention to the following part of Rule 1:
Attempts to circumvent the minimum 50 posts rule by posting rapidly to raise your post count is not allowed, and will result in loss of access to the Marketplace forums.
I can't count the number of people over the years who have tried to run up their post count just to sell something. It's so easy to spot and report when someone posts 47 times in less than 24 hours, and then immediately posts something for sale when they hit post 50.
Don't be that guy!
"A foolish consistency is the hobgoblin of little minds." Ralph Waldo Emerson
The 50 Posts rule is to help keep HF a reasonable place to sell your hammock gear. By the time most HF member's have posted 50 times buyers have a feel for who the seller is.
In my case from reading what seller's post I have a reasonable idea of the care they give their equipment. We all have a reputation, our posts give a idea of who we are.
Bottom line is your gear sells better if member's recognize you.
I would add to this but the members have given you all the answers I could .... thanks folks

where do you create the new threads to start post count?
Within any forum there is a button at the top that says "+ Post New Thread." You should have access to do this in most of the forums except:
For Sale because your post count must be at least 50 and then you have to join the Sellers Group
and the Donating Members Off Topic forums because you're not currently a donating member.
You don't have to start a new thread in order to increase your post count, btw. Replies in existing threads count.
A perfect example of why this rule works is the OP of this thread. Signed up 2 1/2 years ago, then after 3 posts, disappeared.
.
makes sense. thank you . I'm not trying to create unrelated posts in the wrong place .
how do I join the sellers group and what is the responsibility of becoming a donating member?
