(Video) Sneak Peek - Dutchware Pup Tent Prototype

For those of you who like to hammock camp with your dog, cat, hamster or pet lizard, this may be of interest...

I recently had the opportunity to check out this new piece of gear from Dutchware that's still in development - the Dutchware Pup Tent. It's a prototype, so it's not necessarily what the final version will look like / function like, but Dutchware said it was cool to share it for feedback purposes.

Denali has no idea what the word prototype means, but he seems to be quite happy with it in it's present form. I think it's pretty cool too

that looks like a great idea! Leave it to Dutch to come up with something innovative. I have been looking for a way to keep my dog warmer on those breezy nights, something light and packable. I hope it makes it to production.009.jpg

    What is the weight?

I can see using this as a gear tent.

Thanks for sharing. I’ll definitely be picking one of these up if they make it to production.

I hate how it looses tautness when you get in the hammock. I suppose I could carry my extra CRL setup just for this, though.

I feel like I’d still need to get a 12 foot tarp to make sure my pup stays dry, even if the non vented sides are waterproof.

It looks like a simpler solution though than the cave creek pet palace I just got

I had something identical to this custom made for me from Bear Paw WD. I didn't like the looseness either so I got a small adjustable .450 carbon pole to use instead of hanging from above. Worked pretty well though a couple of extra ounces to carry. I have a Pet Palace for my gathered end but I take the "pup tent" for when I'm using a bridge. So far in all her night circling she has yet to knock the pole out. It has a straight front though and this one is angled so not sure it would work as well obviously but maybe its a customization Dutch would do.
Once you're lost in twilight's blue, you don't find your way, the way finds you.
