    Hammockgear Dyneema Fiber drybags

This is just a shout out to HG and some praise for their DCF dry bags. Very nice! Great quality and of course light weight.

Sorry to put a hole in your bag right out of the mailbox, but it was for a good cause: DCF (Cuben) UL DIY Gravity Water Filter

I'll likely buy another and use it for its intended purpose as well

This was the medium. An expensive test, but worked out great!

I think I'll get another to use as a food bag. I don't like the velcro on the Zpacks bags.

Wait, let me get this straight; you punched a hole in an expensive CF dry bag to make a water bladder? Why not just buy a bladder for around $20?

There's nothing to get straight. I didn't "punch a hole" in anything. This was a long thought out process after 10 years of trying to find the perfect water filtration setup. Why not buy a bladder for $20? Why not buy a DCF bag for $30 and save 2+ oz? A bladder is the LAST thing I want to mess with. This is a super UL complete gravity water filter. Most are 10oz, this one is 4.45oz

Looking forward to seeing how this performs in the field. I know you've gone back and forth dialing in your filter system, so I have a strong feeling this one is a winner!

Thanks for taking the plunge and sharing what you came up with.

On top of that, I bet it packs down much smaller!

TINY! The MSR Autoflow is a great product but the bag is very tough/bulky. I don't do anything but scoop up water and hang it on a tree maybe once per day, so I don't need something so durable.

The light weight and small pack size on this bag is pretty amazing. For those who can't access the full thread linked above, here's one of the pics with the whole system all rolled up:
