Minifly and Custom Thunderfly on the way.

What I'm going to do is give you guys a decent comparison of the 2 to show similarities and differences. I got the thunderfly with no pullouts because I like simple and utilitarian aspect and if I'm stuck in hammock because of bad weather I don't care about an extra amount of headroom. What I care about is no leak points and reducing fussing with items that will add to my brain when I'm tired, slightly dehydrated possibly and need food. Reducing and simplifying if a big importance to me.

SO- I'll get as shipped weights, weights with cordage and take both on next backpacking trip to get in use images.

Thanks. I am leaning towards a Thunderfly without pullouts as well for basically the same reasons you mentioned. Look forward to your take on it.

I added center ground steak loops to try porch mode or center a tad higher than sides.

Good call on the Thunderfly. It's so narrow and taut, I know I'll never use the side pullouts on mine. I know it sounds ridiculous but I'm seriously thinking about selling it and switching to one without pullouts. But I'm crazy like that.

Order change. I deleted the center ground stake in the thunderfly.
    So....

I'll have a mini and a non pullout thunderfly to compare soon on a 2 night trip.

Hoping the replacement thunderfly will get here before the trip but maybe not. My order got a little mixed up but I have the Mini ready to take. Total weight on my mini setup is 15.3 oz.
