Are the mini-biners on the head end different color than those on the foot end, or is there any other marking to differentiate head from foot?
No, all of the supplied mini-biners on mine are the same color, looks like they are about the same color as the outer shell. But there is a big old AHE tag on the head end. The set up instructions are extremely minimal. Just clip it on, and make sure the tag is on the outside, under your head. That is about it.

If someone were to request different colors for the mini biners we can do that but as BB mentioned the set up is extremely simple and we work to take all the guesswork out of it. The label is sewn in at the head end so that you have something you can see and feel to easily ID the head end. We work to simplify where ever possible, distilling down to the least complicated user experience we can.

Tag at the head end is perfect. Just something to be able to tell the ends apart is all I was hoping for.

Never purchased an AHE product before; this is my first. Looking forward to it!

cmc4free your XL shipped out this afternoon. Here is a photo of it as a little taste of what's in the box.

I saw the email. Looking forward to hooking it up and checking it out. I'm excited to see that fabric in person. Thanks Paul!

Received the Ridge Creek XL in Hexcam Wasteland today. I have to agree with BillyBob that it couldn't be easier to attach and fits pretty much perfectly. I dig the Hexcam pattern and as others have mentioned in various threads, it's very snake-like.

With this quilt and the WB Cloudburst tarp with exterior pole mod, I think I now have a great 3 season Ridge Runner setup.

I think you do! Pretty cold up there, isn't it, going into Thanksgiving? You should be able to test it out to see if it reaches it's rating for you.

Yeah, it's getting there. Expected low for tomorrow night is 25. Shouldn't be any precipitation. I was planning to sleep out in the yard tomorrow night, so I may just use the RR. I have an insulated pad or a Therm-a-Rest Z-Lite I could keep on standby to slip between the layers if needed.

I'm set to test this out tonight. I have the Ridgerunner in the Tensa4 stand - no tarp, UQP, or bugnet. Ridge Creek XL attached and 20 degree down TQ. I have a Z-Lite pad on standby in case I need more bottom insulation, but the Ridge Creek did feel nice and warm during a brief test. Expected low of 26 with a "RealFeel" of 20 (80% humidity). Could be a bit breezy, so we'll see if I regret not setting up the tarp. Will report back in the morning.

I look forward to your results. Hopefully it won't be breezy. In my experience, it doesn't take much breeze to be quite noticeable with this UQ or any other without a well positioned tarp or UQP.
